LEBANON, Ohio -- A local woman was scheduled to appear in court Monday after being accused of attempting to bring drugs into a jail.
Wanikki E. Cabell, 27, was charged with conveying drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.
She was arrested Saturday for attempting to convey drugs into the Warren Correctional Institution.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Investigators obtained information that Cabell would be attempting to convey drugs to her friend, an inmate at WCI, during their scheduled visit.
After being confronted with the evidence against her, Cabell voluntarily surrendered nine balloons containing marijuana, investigators said. The balloons were concealed on her person, and the marijuana weighed approximately 11 grams.
Cabell was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
