COLUMBUS, Ohio – Parents in the Columbus City School District will soon receive letters notifying them if their child's school assignment has changed as part of the district's planned school closures.
Some students at unaffected schools will be reassigned as well, but a grandfather provision allows them to remain at the school if they choose.
The district is also exploring four "themed" schools: an international high-school, a boys-only middle school, a girls-only middle school and a kindergarten through eighth grade foreign language immersion school.
