BALTIMORE, Maryland -- State utility regulators are set to review a revised application for the Maryland segment of a high-voltage transmission line called PATH.
The Potomac-Appalachian Transmission Highline is the last item on Wednesday's meeting of the Public Service Commission.
Partners Allegheny Energy Inc., of Greensburg, Pa., and American Electric Power Co., of Columbus, Ohio, re-filed their stalled application for the 20-mile Maryland segment last month.
They are pushing ahead in Maryland but have asked to withdraw their application for the 31-mile Virginia section because their energy forecasts show the line isn't immediately needed.
West Virginia regulators are expected to decide on their state's 224-mile section next year.
