ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio -- The second Ohio police chief charged with snooping on the woman who bore twins for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor.
In exchange for Chad Dojack's plea Thursday to dereliction of duty, prosecutors have dropped earlier charges of complicity to burglary and complicity to receiving stolen property. A trial had been scheduled for next week.
Dojack is chief of Bridgeport in eastern Ohio. He and ex-chief Barry Carpenter of Martins Ferry were accused in an alleged scheme to take things from the surrogate's area home to sell to paparazzi.
Carpenter was sentenced last month to two years, eight months in prison on charges including receiving stolen property.
Dojack faces up to 90 days in jail at his sentencing Jan. 13.
