COLUMBUS, Ohio -- SWAT raided a West Side home early Tuesday after an hours-long standoff, but officers came up empty handed in the way of arrests after two men reportedly were held against their will and assaulted for hours.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Two men called 911 from Salley's Market on Sullivant Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to CPD Detective Brian Boesch.
The men told dispatchers they escaped the basement of a home on the 200 block of South Grubb Street.
They told officers the incident started as an argument over drug money around 3 p.m.
When some drugs came up missing, the men said they were held against their will and beat severely -- first at a home on Princeton Avenue then at the South Grubb Street home, Boesch said.
After conducting interviews with victims and witnesses, CPD went to the Princeton Avenue home.
CPD's SWAT unit was called to the scene.
SWAT officers made entry into the home at about 3 a.m., but no one was inside the address.
Two pitbulls were taken from the home by local animal control officials.
CPD officers said they are looking for as many as five suspects.
Both victims refused medical treatment, police said.
Anyone with information was asked to contact CPD at 614-645-4545 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-645-TIPS (8477).
