OK. Here are your winter options:
- A very cold winter, with fluffy snows, but sunshine out of the snow days, and dry air = This is what we have had the past month and a half.
- A very dreary, overcast winter, with a warmer temperature pattern offset by higher humidity to yield = A raw, damp chill pattern and mud. This is what we normally spend half of our winters doing
The first is a Minnesota- Wisconsin sort of winter which can be appealing.
But we are going into the latter, the January Thaw for two weeks.
Snow will be gone within days and dogs and kids will no longer track in white snow but brown mud.
Have I won you over to winter yet?
Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s much of this period. Lows in upper 20s to lower 30s.
It is 45 to 52 below zero in Alaska again today so this will shoot down our way after this thaw ends and the jet stream drops again.
