COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Authorities took two suspects into custody after a brief patrol pursuit and crash on the city's Southeast Side Tuesday afternoon.

A West Jefferson trooper attempted to pull over a vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 270 after the vehicle's occupants allegedly threw a bag out of the vehicle just west of the U.S. route 23 exit.
OSP said the motorists didn't comply with the trooper's commands to stop and continued on I-270 eastbound.
The suspects attempted to exit at the Alum Creek Drive exit, but the vehicle spun out on the roadway and went down an embankment.
The cruiser was not involved in the crash.
The suspects were not injured.
Troopers took the suspects into custody.
Franklin County sheriff's deputies searched the area for the discarded bag. No immediate information was available on whether it was found or its contents.
