COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A brief police pursuit results in a crash that closed a Northwest Side freeway ramp for a little more than an hour Wednesday morning.

The pursuit began when a Delaware trooper attempted to pull over a vehicle traveling west on Interstate 270 westbound shortly before 2:45 a.m.
The trooper rolled down his cruiser window and demanded the motorist pull over. The infraction that led to the attempted traffic stop remained unclear.
The driver acted like he would exit at state Route 315 northbound but turned back on I-270 westbound at the last minute, authorities said.
The trooper initiated a brief pursuit.
The suspect lost control of his vehicle and hit several roadway signs, and the vehicle overturned several times. The suspect's vehicle crashed on the exit ramp from Interstate 270 westbound to northbound Sawmill Road.
Authorities closed the I-270 westbound ramp to northbound Sawmill road during crash investigation and cleanup.
The suspect was transported to OSU Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries. He suffered a fractured rib.
The trooper was not injured during the incident.
Alcohol was suspected as a factor in the crash, authorities said.
The suspect was charged with OVI (operating a vehicle while impaired) and failure to comply with a peace officer.
The suspect's name was not released immediately by authorities.
The ramp reopened to traffic at about 6 a.m.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Columbus police continued to investigate the incident.
