COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A 28-year-old woman was killed after police said she lost control, drove off the roadway and flipped her vehicle.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from Columbus police.
Melissa Stevens, 28, was driving her 1996 Saturn northbound on Interstate 71, just north of Greenlawn Avenue, at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
She took the ramp to Interstate 70 eastbound.
Stevens apparently lost control of her vehicle on the ramp, and the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway.
Her vehicle rolled at least one time before coming to rest in the grassy median.
Stevens sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Grant Medical Center.
She was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m.
The ramp from I-71 northbound to I-70 eastbound was closed until about 5:30 a.m. for crash investigation and cleanup.
CPD's accident-investigation squad continued to investigate.
It remained unknown whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
Stevens' death was the city's second traffic-crash related fatality of 2010.
Additional information was not available immediately.
