COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Republican state auditor Mary Taylor says the stunning outcome of a special U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts will reverberate in Ohio.
Taylor is the running mate of Republican gubernatorial candidate John Kasich, who seeks to defeat Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland in November.
Taylor said Thursday that last week's election of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts shows that voters don't like what they're seeing out of Washington and that the public demands accountability and an efficient use of taxpayer money.
She spoke at a political preview session for journalists organized by The Associated Press.
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat running for U.S. Senate, says voters care less about party affiliation and more about whether officeholders are listening to their concerns.
