Maurice Clarett is back at OSU, not as a player, but as a student. He is apparently paying his own way through school and will not be eligible to play football.
Directly across Neil Avenue from Mirror Lake is Campbell Hall, and it is here where Clarett will be taking most of his classes.
Right now he's in the College of Education and Human Ecology with a concentration in Family Resource Management.
According to the university, with a degree in this one could build emphasis areas in consumer and family finance, consumer health, economics of aging, consumer policy, family economic policy, consumer behavior or global consumer issues.
When he was released from prison he said geriatric care was where he wanted to develop a career. He has recently expressed interest in going into business.
So has this former Buckeye bad boy turned over a new leaf?
The Ohio Department of Rehabiliation and Corrections says it has nothing to do with his return to school.
The university says he's paying for his education himself.
Most of the students at OSU today were only 10 or 12 years old when Clarett was last at OSU, and many we spoke to today didn’t even know who he is.
But of the ones who did know of him, coming back to school was not an issue.
"If he's charged and reformed, you know, he's served his time. Whatever his sentence was, I mean, I think everyone should get a second chance," said student Max Miller.
And as a student, that's what he's getting here at OSU.
