COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A Downtown block reopens after firefighters contain a fire at Costume Specialists off North 5th Street.

Columbus fire was called to a commercial building fire at North 5th and Mc Kee streets at about 11:45 a.m. Friday.
The building houses Costume Specialists at 211 N. 5th St.
The fire was on the three-story building's third floor.
Authorities closed one Downtown block: Nationwide Boulevard to the north, North 5th Street to the east, Spring Street to the south and North 4th Street to the west.
A second alarm was called at about 12:08 p.m.
The fire was considered controlled by 12:25 p.m.
Fire crews removed all of their equipment, and authorities reopened the road before 3:30 p.m.
An on-scene photographer said the multitudes of stored costumes made it hard to contain the flames. He also said firefighters threw flaming costume pieces out of upper-floor windows.
Fire investigators and the American Red Cross also were called to the scene.
