CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland judge cautioned an Ohio marriage counselor to leave her husband four months before he was arrested for allegedly stabbing her to death.
Retired Municipal Judge C. Ellen Connally warned Tonya Hunter about her husband, Maurice Lyons, in April, when Lyons was sentenced on domestic violence charges.
The judge said Hunter would have to take responsibility for her actions if she chose to take her husband back.
Thirty-eight-year-old Lyons is being held on $8 million bail for allegedly stabbing Hunter to death in front of her 4-year-old son.
The boy, who was found abandoned on a street corner, led police to her body Sunday.
Lyons' attorney said her client has psychiatric issues. She said Saturday that people sometimes make different decisions in their personal lives than in their professional lives.
