Authorities release surveillance photos of a suspect whom they say attempted to rob an Athens County bank Friday afternoon.

According to the Athens County sheriff's office, a man approached a branch of the Hocking Valley Bank in Coolville while allegedly carrying a duffle bag and a handgun Friday afternoon.
The suspect was described as wearing a green, knee-length coat with a gray collar and blue jeans. He also had on dark shoes that might have been boots.
The suspect was wearing gloves and a dark ski mask that covered his whole head.
Detectives said the man was described as 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.
Investigators said the suspect tried to get in but was prevented from doing so because the door he was trying to use was locked.
Unable to get in, the man returned to his vehicle and drove out of the parking lot.
The suspect was driving a blue/gray, four-door, 2010 Chevy Cobalt.
