A female pedestrian is struck and killed while crossing Refugee Road on the city's Southeast Side Wednesday night.
Columbus officers were called to the area of Refugee and Noe-Bixby roads at 10:27 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian struck.
According to a police report, Frank Graveley, 82, was driving a 2005 Dodge caravan westbound on Refugee Road approaching Nathaniel Blvd. when 74-year-old Vina Carmicheal attempted to walk cross Refugee Road.
Carmicheal was struck by Graveley and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:35 p.m.
Police said the roadway did not have overhead lights or marked crosswalks.
CPD continued to investigate the crash.
Westbound Refugee Road was closed for several hours during the crash investigation.
Charges were not filed currently.
