2 People, Dog Injured In East-Side Crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- One person was seriously injured in a crash on the city's east side Monday.

The crash occurred at Winchester Pike and Refugee Road at about 4:15 p.m.

According to Columbus police, the driver of a sport utility vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a pickup truck.

The SUV driver was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition with head trauma and serious injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck is in stable condition at Grant Medical Center.

Police said they believe alcohol is suspected in the crash.

Officials said a dog in the SUV suffered a broken neck during the impact and was taken to a local veterinary office.
