COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A local man was sentenced Wednesday after he admitted to charges that he bludgeoned his girlfriend to death with a hammer before dismembering her and scattering her body parts around the apartment complex where they lived.
Robert Knight, 51, of Columbus was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 15 years.
Knight pleaded guilty to murder Monday, Feb. 22, in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
Investigators said Knight killed Tracey Moore, 44, in June after they argued at the apartment.
Police found the woman's head and arms in Knight's freezer, and maintenance workers found other remains in his backed-up toilet, throughout the apartment and in the woods, a pond and a trash bin.
