CINCINNATI -- Police say they've arrested a former boyfriend of a Cincinnati mother fatally shot while holding her 3-week-old daughter.
Twenty-eight-year-old Shamon McDavis was charged Thursday afternoon with murder in the killing of 26-year-old Kelli Walton early in the day.
McDavis also has been charged with one count of felonious assault in the wounding of the baby, who was grazed on the head by a bullet. She's expected to recover.
Police say Walton's three other children, all under the age of 10, were home when she was shot in their apartment, but they did not witness anything.
Court records do not list an attorney for McDavis. He was expected to appear in court on Friday.
