COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Campus police issued a crime alert after a student reported an attempted armed robbery on campus overnight Friday.

A male victim told campus police he was confronted by a man with a large folding knife just before 1 a.m. Friday in the loading dock area of Howlett Hall. The suspect attempted to rob him, the student said.
Howlett Hall is located at 2001 Fyffe Ct., near the center of OSU’s main campus.
The suspect was described as a black male who is about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 160 to 165 pounds.
He was wearing a blue polo shirt with a white stripe, a blue jacket and dark blue pants.
Authorities continued to investigate.
