CINCINNATI -- Prosecutors will call more witnesses Friday in the second day of trial for an Ohio man charged with killing two teenage girls.
Before Thursday's opening statements in Cincinnati, Anthony Kirkland pleaded guilty to murdering two women. He was to have been tried in all four killings.
Friday's testimony is expected to focus on the death of 13-year-old Esme Kenney, who was strangled last year weeks after Kirkland left a halfway house.
In his opening, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters called Kirkland a vicious serial killer. Defense attorney Norm Aubin told jurors that Kirkland admitted to police that he killed the women and the teens.
Kirkland could receive the death penalty if convicted in the teens' killings.
