»  Comments | Post a Comment

WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio-- A Plain City man was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-vehicle crash on Lilly-Chapel/Georgesville Road in Madison County Friday evening. Troopers from the West Jefferson Post of the Highway Patrol say Michael D. Gram, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as the driver of a dirt bike being towed by an ATV in an effort to get the engine started. Neither the dirt bike or the ATV had rear lights and both were hit from behind by a pickup truck. The driver of the ATV, Thomas E. Meade, 29, of West Jefferson was Med-Flighted to a Columbus hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the pickup, Robert Hix, 54, of West Jefferson was uninjured. The accident remains under investigation; at this point the patrol report indicates that alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the fatal crash.
