LANCASTER, Ohio -- Deputies apprehend two burglary suspects whom authorities say might have been responsible for several recent daytime burglaries in the Violet Township area.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from the Fairfield County sheriff's office.
The Fairfield County sheriff’s office received a call from a West Chester subdivision resident at about 10:58 a.m. Monday.
The resident reported seeing two suspicious young men carrying large trash bags out of a neighbor’s home and putting the bags into a small green car.
Deputies responded to the area, and Deputy Stephanie Russell located what she believed to be the vehicle in question and initiated a traffic stop.
Upon checking the 19-year-old driver, Jamel J. Wood of Columbus, she found he did not have driving privileges.
The 19-year-old passenger, Isaiah J. Moore of Gahanna, was found to have an active warrant out of Gahanna.
Both men were taken into custody.
Russell found a TV, jewelry and other electronic equipment in the vehicle's trunk.
Deputies checked the location of the original call and found the home was burglarized.
Deputies found mail that belonged to another nearby home and found that residence burglarized as well.
Both subjects were charged with second-degree felony burglary, which is punishable by as many as eight years confinement and a $15,000 fine.
These individuals are believed to be responsible for numerous daytime burglaries in the Violet Township area over the last several weeks.
"We anticipate these individuals will face additional charges in other burglary cases being investigated," Sheriff Phalen said.
