Former Sgt. Gets 60 Days In Jail For Public Indecency

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A former Grove City police sergeant was sentenced to 60 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to public-indecency charges.

Steven J. Howard, 54, was sentenced to 60 days in jail Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to public-indecency charges in a Franklin County Municipal courtroom.

CPD was dispatched to the North Side Kohl's, at 1700 Morse Rd., Thursday, July 2, on the report of a male masturbating inside the store.

Responding officers located Howard in the store parking lot, and he was charged with public indecency.

Howard submitted retirement papers the week after the incident. He was a 25-year veteran of the department.
