A local Girl Scout troop goes where no troop has gone before in the name of cookies.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A local Girl Scout troop went where no troop has gone before in the name of cookies.
Troop 1480 set up a booth in the Ohio Statehouse this week.
It’s the first time Girl Scouts have been allowed to sell their cookies there.
The girls in the troop were all in school Wednesday morning, but the adult volunteers felt it was a great opportunity that couldn’t be passed.
“This is real exciting, and it’s interesting to see the legislators and the aides and everybody go by,” said Beverly Myers. “Sales are great. We started selling them before we could get the boxes open.”
The troop from Sullivant Gardens recently won a national excellence award.
The booth at the Ohio Statehouse was a trial run. The troop has hopes to keep doing business with visitors and lawmakers.
