It was 68 at noon today. A brief shower dropped it back to 62 but at this writing it is 66 again.
Perfect spring day.
Large diffuse storm still sits over Iowa, spins off areas of rain/thunder, but most of these have been directed to the southeastern states.
So again we will be in an area that will only have spotty showers through the morning.
Eventually, the low comes east through the Ohio Valley, and rain will become steadier and heavier when that happens.
It now appears that will be delayed until tomorrow night into Saturday, and still an inch will be possible when it comes our way.
Not much instability in our area at any time. That is good.
CAPES are 75 tonight, 27 tomorrow, -18 tomorrow night. CAPES of 2000+ are severe indicators
LIFTED INDEX is +1 tonight, 0 tomorrow, -2 tomorrow night, +9 for weekend. LIs in negative zones indicate thunder at -2 not severe until lower than -4.
So one pointer LI indicated thunder for tomorrow night, but at the same time the CAPES are nowhere close for anything more than a rumble.
Weekend will be cool and damp, about 50.
Next week will be warming and dry.
