COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police were called to a Central Ohio mall on a report that someone stole more than $7,000 worth of diamond rings.
According to a report filed with Columbus police, a suspect entered the Andrews Jewelers store inside Polaris Fashion Place Sunday at about 2:15 p.m.
The person allegedly reached across the counter, opened and unlocked cabinet and stole three solitaire rings, totaling $7,767.
Stolen were a ½-carat solitaire diamond ring valued at $2,569, a 1/3-carat solitaire diamond ring valued at $779 and a 1-carat solitaire diamond ring valued at $4,419.
Fingerprints were collected and the suspect was seen on mall security video leaving the area in a white sport utility vehicle.
