COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police say two Hilltop girls who went missing Monday afternoon were found safe Tuesday morning.

Miranda Masters, 9, and Alina Oeun, 10, were identified as missing early Tuesday morning.
Columbus police released information and photos on the girls after 6 a.m.
Miranda and Alina hadn't been seen since about 3:15 p.m. Monday. The girls attend Burroughs Elementary School, 551 S. Richardson Ave.
Miranda's mother told NBC 4 the girls were found safe at about 7 a.m.
Apparently, Miranda and Alina spent the night at a friend's house without alerting anyone of their whereabouts.
CPD confirmed the information shortly after 8 a.m.
