BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio -- One person has died and another is in critical condition after a crash in Logan County early Wednesday.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Marysville post.
The crash occurred before 6 a.m. on County Road 144 between state Route 287 and County Road 144A in Perry Township.
Troopers received a call about a two-vehicle crash on CR 144 at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Nancy A. Logan, 66, of Lakeview was driving a white 2002 Ford Focus westbound on CR 144.
Theodore J. Lietzke, 20, of Huntsville was driving a green 2001 Mitsubishi Galant eastbound on CR 144.
The two vehicles collided in the westbound lane of CR 144. Troopers said Lietzke's vehicle struck Logan's. vehicle.
One of the vehicles burst into flames following the collision.
Logan was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.
Lietzke was transported to OSU Medical Center Main by MedFlight.
U.S. 33 eastbound was closed to traffic temporarily for the helicopter to transport a male victim in critical condition to OSU.
County Road 144 was closed for several hours, but was reopened to traffic shortly after 8 a.m.
The crash remained under investigation.
