COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police are investigating an overnight shooting on the city's Southeast Side.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from Columbus police.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of South 22nd Street at about 2:47 a.m. Thursday on reports of a drive-by shooting.
Officers found 23-year-old John West Jr. with a gunshot wound to his head inside the apartment.
Detectives said the incident appears to be a random drive-by shooting.
West was standing in a room in the house when he was shot; he wasn't a deliberate target.
Others were in the apartment at the time of the shooting but weren't hit.
Detectives said a vehicle came down the alley and stopped. Suspects fired shots into the apartment complex and fled in an unknown direction.
No suspect vehicle description was available.
West was taken to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. He was upgraded to stable condition by 7 a.m. Thursday.
Detectives didn't have any known motives or suspects currently.
