COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two local parents are facing child-endangerment charges after their 4-year-old son died overnight Thursday.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from Columbus police detectives.
Columbus police were dispatched to a home on the 6400 block of Mount Badon Road on an unknown trouble call at 12:11 a.m.
When officers arrived on the far East Side scene, the child was unresponsive, CPD Homicide Sgt. Dana Norman said.
Lawrence King III was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:54 a.m.
The exact cause of death remained undetermined, pending an autopsy.
CPD officials questioned Lawrence's father, 29-year-old John J. Reeves, and his mother, 23-year-old Nikki Reeves.
CPD arrested and charged John with child endangerment shortly before 7 a.m. Thursday.
Nikki was released from police custody Thursday morning, pending further investigation.
