COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A male suspect surrenders after deputies say he led authorities on a high-speed pursuit on the city's North Side early Friday.

A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a driver for a traffic violation on Interstate 71 near state Route 161/East Dublin Granville Road exit/entrance.
That was at about 4 a.m. Friday.
The driver refused to stop for the deputy and continued southbound on I-71, according to authorities.
A few minutes later, the suspect left the highway and drove through residential neighborhoods.
Authorities told NBC 4 the suspect turned off the van's headlights and taillights in attempt to lose the deputy.
The pursuit ended on Audubon Road, near Hudson Street, when the suspect pulled over and surrendered.
The suspect was taken into police custody. His identity was not released immediately.
It remained unclear why the suspect attempted to elude authorities.
