Detectives are checking area surveillance video and asking for witnesses to come forward after a male bicyclist is injured critically in a hit-skip crash Friday morning.

Columbus police were called to the scene of a hit-skip crash at Sawmill Road and Sawbury Boulevard, just north of Interstate 270, on the city's Northwest Side at about 5 a.m. Friday.
The 911 caller reported an unresponsive male on the side of Sawmill Road.
Jeffrey T. Stevenson, 20, was riding southbound on Sawmill, near the curb, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle and thrown from his bicycle, police said.
Stevensonwas transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in life-threatening condition. He remained in critical condition at 1 p.m. Friday.
A portion of Sawmill Road was closed while CPD officers and its crash investigation unit were on the scene gathering details.
Officers confirmed the incident was a hit-skip crash.
Detectives don't have any suspects or witnesses currently.
Detectives were checking with area businesses to see if surveillance video offers any leads.
