NBC 4 (WCMH-TV) will present Stand Up to Cancer Columbus on Friday, September 10 from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This locally produced program will be hosted by Cabot Rea, Colleen Marshall and Ellie Merritt.
Stand Up to Cancer Columbus will highlight how Central Ohio is standing up to cancer every day…from patients who brave the treatments and their families and friends who find new ways to support them, to the doctors who provide the care and the researchers who break new ground every day. You’ll learn about tests that can detect cancer early and the lifestyle changes you can make to save your life. You’ll also learn how monetary donations are vital to all of these efforts and how you can contribute to live-saving programs right here in Central Ohio.
NBC 4's CALL 4 phone bank will be staffed with experts from The Wellness Community Central Ohio to answer cancer related questions from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Phone bank volunteers will have details on how to donate to The Wellness Community Central Ohio.
Following the local program NBC 4 will broadcast Stand Up to Cancer from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., the NBC network’s primetime simultaneous commercial free collaboration with ABC, CBS, Fox, and other cable and online channels. The extraordinary lineup of actors, musicians, athletes and journalists participating in the Stand Up To Cancer primetime roadblock television fundraising event continue to grow: Elizabeth Banks, Kathy Bates, Sir Richard Branson, Michael Chiklis, George Clooney, Baron Davis, Emily Deschanel, Bill Hader, Dorothy Hamill, Anne Heche, Cheryl Hines, Randy Jackson, George Karl, Dr. Jon Lapook, Rob Lowe, Jane Lynch, Marlee Matlin, Shareen Mitchell, Olivia Munn, Lisa Niemi, Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Passmore, Will Smith, Sam Trammell, Denzel Washington, Aaron Yoo and Renée Zellweger.
Musical guests scheduled to perform include: Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Neil Diamond, The Edge, Delta Goodrem, Herbie Hancock, Kris Kristofferson, Lady Antebellum, Leona Lewis, Orianthi and Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart. These artists join previously announced performers including Natasha Bedingfield, Martina McBride, Aaron Neville, Dave Stewart and Stevie Wonder.
