UNION COUNTY JOB FAIR
The Union County Business Education Workforce Team and the Union County Chamber of Commerce are holding the third annual Union County Job Fair on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Union County Services Building, 940 London Avenue, in Marysville. With the generous co-sponsorship of Honda of America Manufacturing Inc. and the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, there will be 16 local businesses hiring and several career and training service providers available to discuss new career ideas and options. 

Several local Human Resource professionals will also be on-site to review and help job-seekers update their resumes. There will also be a Resume/Cover Letter Writing session at 10 a.m., and an Interviewing Skills session at 10:30 a.m. All sessions and workshops are free of charge and open to the public.

LOCAL JOB FAIR
A big opportunity for those looking for a new job. On Tuesday, August 17, more than 30 Rickenbacker area businesses are scheduled to take part in a special job fair. The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rickenbacker Charter Terminal at 2441 John Circle Drive in Columbus. Participants are asked to dress appropriately and bring plenty of resumes. Pre-register for the event and research the companies that will be hiring.

Plan out your strategy. Many suggest meeting with your top choices in the morning, then your second tier, and going back to your top choices in the afternoon to thank them for their time.

Now for the interview: You have just a couple minutes to sell yourself to potential employers so come up with a one minute "commericial" of sorts that highlights what you can offer the company.

Have your own list of questions ready to ask the interviewer, and don't forget the follow up.

Write a thank you note to the recruiter, and mail it the next day. The note should thank them for their time, restate your interest and qualifications for the position and inquire about a second interview.
