A local veteran is one of two finalists vying for the chance to win his own Sears Hometown Store, and your vote could help make that dream a reality.
It’s part of the nationwide Sears Operation Stores & Stripes Contest. The only requirement to enter was that the candidate is a U.S. Military Veteran. After several stages of interviews and public service projects, the field has been narrowed down to two finalists, one of whom is David Wheatley from London, Ohio. The final winner will be determined by voters via Facebook.
David Wheatley answered the call to serve his country in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972. Since then he has held several business and community-related positions throughout Central Ohio. Last year, his job was eliminated due to state budget cuts. Wheatley believes you’re never too old to change your career, follow a goal, and change your life. To quote Wheatley in his audition video, “There is no golden or magic age, just time in one’s life to turn the page.” If Wheatley is chosen, he will win his own Sears Hometown Store, license, merchandise, renovation & merchandised location, as well as 90-days of operating cash flow.
To vote for David Wheatley, go to the Sears HomeTown Store Facebook page by clicking here. There you will find videos of both finalists, as well as the voting ballot. Voting ends September 15.
