GALLOWAY, Ohio -- Two people have been arrested after assaulting and robbing a cab driver Friday night.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Ismail Weyrah, a taxi driver for the Yellow Cab Company, picked up two passengers in the downtown area of Columbus around 10:47 p.m. Friday.
Weyrah drove Johnny Edwards, 23, and Ashly Edwards, 17, to the area of North Murray Hill Road and Medfield Way in Prarie Township.
The couple then attacked Weyrah with a knife and attempted to rob him.
Weyrah sustained serious injuries. He was treated at Grant Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Detectives apprehended the couple at Doctors West Hospital, where Johnny Edwards was treated and released for minor injuries.
The couple has been charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping and attempted murder.
