Columbus police are investigating how a suspect was able to steal over $11,000 from Walmart with a phone call.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS from the Columbus Police Department.
The crime happened about 1 a.m. Sunday at the Walmart located at 5200 Westpointe Plaza Drive near Hilliard Rome Road.
According to a police report taken by the Columbus Police Department, the suspect called and ‘tricked a clerk’ into activating money cards over the phone and giving the suspect the activation numbers.
The suspect was able to steal $11,054.60 in money cards.
No arrests have been reported and no suspect information has been released.
