ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio -- An investigation led by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office detectives has led to the arrest of three in the Nelsonville area.

Detectives have been monitoring illegal drug transactions in the Chauncey area.
Information received from the investigation led authorities to a traffic stop in the Nelsonville area.
Nelsonville police were contacted by a sheriff’s detective to watch for a vehicle passing through Nelsonville carrying illegal narcotics.
Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, officers located and attempted to stop the vehicle. The occupant driving fled on S.R. 33 towards Athens.
Authorities were able to stop the vehicle on S.R. 33 near the WAIS-AM 770/WSEO-FM 107.7 radio station.
A search warrant was obtained and a large amount of Oxycontin and paraphernalia were discovered inside the vehicle, according to authorities.
Authorities seized the vehicle and arrested three passengers, Kevin Azbell, 40, of Amesville; William Goins Jr., 40, of Chauncey; and Tony Roberts, 35, of Millifield.
All three have been charged with aggravated possession of an illegal drug.
Robers and Azbell have also been charged with violating parole.
The three individuals have been taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
