NEW HAMPTON, N.H. -- New Hampshire authorities have identified a hiker who died of an apparent heart attack.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says 54-year-old Rodney Jones of Enon, Ohio, was hiking Mount Major in Alton with his wife Monday afternoon when he was stricken.
Nearby hikers performed CPR and rescue crews responded, but efforts to revive Jones were unsuccessful.
Jones and his wife were visiting family in the Alton Bay area.
An autopsy was not expected.
