CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati is about to break ground on an indoor practice facility that football coach Brian Kelly negotiated in his agreement to stay on.
Friday's ceremony will mark the start of construction on a domed facility that will cost about $10 million and should be finished in about a year.
The 12th-ranked Bearcats finished the regular season with an 11-2 record and the Big East title. They play Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 1.
Athletic department officials also are looking at upgrading Nippert Stadium, the smallest football stadium in the Big East with a capacity of 35,000.
