FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Kevin Slowey struck out five batters in six innings as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Cincinnati Reds 4-0.
Slowey gave up three hits but no runs as he lowered his spring ERA from 5.91 to 4.02 after his fifth outing of the spring.
The Twins supported Slowey on offense, with shortstop Adam Everett tagging up on Michael Cuddyer's fly ball in the third inning for a 1-0 lead.
Minor league catcher Drew Butera hit a two-RBI single that scored Harris and Carlos Gomez, who beat a throw to first for an infield single.
Butera then scored on an error for a 4-0 lead in the seventh.
Reds starter Homer Bailey gave up one earned run and three hits with two walks and no strikeouts in four innings.
