COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Thousands of you have bought your playoff tickets for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

And now we know which team the Jackets will play in their first post season game ever.

NBC 4 Sports' Omar Ruiz reported on the match up and what day that game will be played.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will play Detroit in the first round of the playoffs, Columbus’ first ever trip to the NHL’s postseason.

The schedule will be announced later this evening.
