CINCINNATI -- Ta'Shia Phillips had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Special Jennings added 17 points as No. 21 Xavier beat Dayton 78-57 Sunday afternoon.
Dayton (15-11, 4-6 Atlantic 10) scored the first eight points of the second half and briefly held a three-point lead. But Xavier (22-4, 10-0) soon tied it at 36 when Jennings hit a jump shot in the lane.
Jennings made a pair of 3-pointers later in the half during a 16-2 run that ended with Xavier in control 64-47 with 6:02 left.
Kendel Ross scored 17 points and Kristen Daugherty had 13 for Dayton, which shot just 34.4 percent from the field.
Dee Dee Jernigan came off the bench to score 14 points and April Phillips added 10 for Xavier. Phillips had her 13th double-double this season.
