CINCINNATI -- A spokesman for the Cincinnati Bengals says the results of the latest MRI on Carson Palmer's right elbow indicates the quarterback should recover from his injury without surgery.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said Tuesday that test results bolster the team's earlier statements that Palmer will recover without surgery on his throwing arm and should be ready for regular offseason workouts, which start in March.

Palmer's right elbow has a ligament and tendon partially torn from the bone. Instead of getting reconstructive surgery, Palmer chose to rest the elbow for two months and see if it healed.

Brennan did not know when the latest MRI was taken, but a report on the Bengals' Web site said it took place on Dec. 26.
