CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns have acquired linebacker Bo Ruud off waivers from the New England Patriots.
The team announced the move Thursday.
The 24-year-old was a sixth-round draft pick from Nebraska last year. He spent his 2008 rookie season on New England's reserve injured list with an ankle injury.
He made 33 starts for the Cornhuskers, recording 216 tackles and 4½ sacks. Ruud also returned three interceptions for touchdowns, tying a school record.
The Browns also say they have released running back Allen Patrick.
