TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Michael Arp doubled and scored on Matt Streng's sixth-inning sacrifice fly as Big Ten champion Ohio State avoided elimination with a 6-4 victory over Marist on Saturday in the NCAA tournament.
Streng also added an eighth-inning RBI single. The third-seeded Buckeyes (41-18) improved to 35-1 when leading after seven innings as Jake Hale picked up his 17th save of the season.
Marist (31-28) tied the game in the top of the sixth on George Agostini's solo homer to right. The Red Foxes outhit the Buckeyes 10-7, but were hitless in 3 2-3 innings against relievers Drew Rucinski and Hale.
