CINCINNATI -- Bengals rookie linebacker Rey Maualuga left the field on a cart after suffering a left knee injury in the third quarter against Pittsburgh, but returned on the next series.

Maualuga, who won a starting job in training camp, hurt his left knee while making a tackle and limped off the field, but returned a few plays later. He was caught in the pileup on Ben Roethlisberger's 1-yard touchdown sneak, and stayed down on his back for a few minutes, holding his facemask in pain.

He was helped to a cart on the sideline and went for an examination. A few minutes later, he limped back onto the field and returned to the lineup on the next series.
