COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have added forward Derek MacKenzie to the roster on emergency recall from the club's AHL affiliate in Syracuse.
MacKenzie was to join the Blue Jackets in time for their Tuesday game at Vancouver, British Columbia, general manager Scott Howson said. MacKenzie could fill in if forwards Jared Boll and Alexandre Picard, both of whom sustained injuries in Saturday night's game against Colorado, are unable to play.
The 28-year-old MacKenzie had a goal and three assists and a +4 plus/minus rating in 16 games with the Blue Jackets earlier this season. The sixth pick, 128th overall, by Atlanta in 1999 has three goals and five assists in 62 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Thrashers.
